Hospice Center

In 2006, the Hospice of Charleston Foundation completed construction of the tri-county area's only inpatient Hospice Center. The beautiful twenty bed, 20,000 square foot inpatient facility, nestled among the pines and oaks on Wando Park Boulevard in Mount Pleasant is a unique and valuable resource for patients and families in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Operated by Hospice of Charleston - Gentiva, the Hospice Center offers a peaceful, home-like alternative to dying in a sterile hospital room when care at home is no longer possible. The Center also offers respite care for terminally ill patients whose primary care providers are temporarily unable to provide care.

The comfort and care offered by this facility are second to none. Patients are cared for around the clock by a team of specially trained medical professionals, and regularly tended by experienced volunteers. The Center is open any time day or night for friends and family visits. In addition to comfortable, spacious, private rooms for patients, the Center also houses a family kitchen, a family living room, and two screened porches. The on-site Peace Chapel contains a beautiful, one-of-a-kind commissioned fresco entitled 23rd Psalms by renowned artist Ben Long.
